Our Construction Method

What are SIPs?

  • A Structurally Insulated Panel (SIP) is a high-performance building panel
  • Made by bonding a rigid insulating foam core between two structural facing boards (OSB, plywood, fiber cement, metal, etc.)
  • Combines structural strength and insulation in a single panel
  • Provides excellent energy efficiency and thermal performance

Continuous Insulation

  • SIPs provide continuous insulation around the entire building exterior
  • Traditional construction has insulation gaps where wall studs are located
  • Continuous insulation reduces thermal bridging
  • Buildings constructed with SIPs are more energy efficient
  • Lower heating and cooling costs over time

Reduced Cost and Time

  • SIPs use the structural facings as the interior and exterior finished surfaces
  • The panels also serve as the moisture and vapor barrier
  • Fewer materials are required compared to traditional framing
  • Reduces overall construction costs
  • Speeds up assembly time
  • Walls are constructed by standing the panel in place and securing it

Increased Strength

  • SIPs provide a stronger, more disaster-resistant alternative to traditional construction
  • Engineered panels create a solid, unified structural system
  • Designed to withstand seismic forces
  • Tested for wind resistance and structural performance
  • Provide added durability and long-term structural reliability

At Comfort Built Sheds, quality isn’t an afterthought—it’s built into every step of our process. From the initial framing to the final finishes, our team focuses on precision, durability, and attention to detail to ensure every structure meets our standards. We use carefully selected materials and proven construction methods, taking the time to do things right rather than rushing through the job. Every project is approached with the mindset that it should last for years to come, giving our customers a space they can rely on with confidence.
